One of the most costly items for any business is advertising. Although most people are familiar with Craigslist (which is my least favorite because of their limitations) you may not be familiar with some of the other sites listed here.
Of course, using social media sites, such as Facebook, is a great way of marketing. Some social media sites are more 'marketing' friendly than others and two of my favorites are CORKIN and SWOM.

Desktop Lightening - your ads are received by opt-in participants. I was able to send my ad to over 2,000 participants just one week after signing up for Desktop Lightening -- this is one of my favorites.
List Jumper - I like 'playing' this 'leap frog' game. It's fun to see how many folks I can leap over and add to my list. And, I've gotten some valuable useful information by participating in List Jumper.
